Council Minutes November 22, 2022

Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Colt Turner, Mayor Chris Hare, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little, Councilman Chris Sims and Councilman Danny Wagnon.

 

Paul Harbison gave the invocation.

 

Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the November 8, 2022, meeting and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Sims seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from November 8-November 21, 2022. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve a one-time pay increase for all employee’s ($ 200.00 for full-time associates and $ 100.00 for part-time associates) in December.  Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve a contract with Alabama Power for 2 flock license plate recognition cameras and all associated networking equipment for 24-month agreement at an estimated monthly service amount of $ 458.34. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. Councilman Rampey abstained from voting and the rest voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve for the fire department to purchase 7 thermal imagers in the amount of $ 18,250.00 ($ 18,000 will be coming from a grant) $ 250.00 will come out of fire tax money from Nafeco. Councilman Sims seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to purchase an 18 bay, 12V emergency operations charging case from Global Technology systems in the amount of $ 6,162.30.

 

Councilman Little made a motion give the Mayor authority to negotiate and check the price to purchase property on Pineview Avenue.  All voted aye.

 

Chris Sims made a motion to go into executive session.  Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Sims made a motion to reconvene the council meeting.  Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Turner made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Sims seconded the motion. All voted aye.
