Council Minutes for February 22, 2022

Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Rampey, Councilman Little, Mayor Hare, Councilman Turner and Councilman Sims. Councilman Wagnon was absent.

 

Joel Gray gave the invocation.

 

Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes from the February 8, 2022, meeting and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Little made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from February 8, 2022- February 21, 2022. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve Resolution 22-04 authorizing the City to use the “Standard Allowance” of $ 10 million as provided for in 31 CFR 35.6(d)(1) of the Final rule, for purposes of determining the City’s revenue loss with respect to Coronavirus State and Local Recovery Funds. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve the voting delegate authorization form for the Annual Business Meeting May 12, 2022, as follows:  Voting Delegate: Chris Hare, 1st Alternate Voting Delegation:  Danny Wagnon, 2nd Alternate Voting Delegate:  Colt Turner. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to accept the Audit for 2021 from MDA. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Turner made a motion to accept the Wiregrass paving bid as the lowest bid and approve the contract amount of $ 146,148.00 for Highland Point Subdivision. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. Councilman Sims voted no, Mayor Hare voted aye, Councilman Turner voted aye, Councilman Little voted aye, and Councilman Rampey voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve the purchase of ten holsters for Police Department in the amount of $ 1560.00 to come out of the driving school funds. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve for the Police Department to get a K9 dog named Dexter. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to purchase a Kennel for the K9 dog at a cost of $ 3,376.00. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve for the fire department to purchase new equipment (3-Drywall Pike Polls, 2-5” to 2.5” adapters, 4- 3” to 2.5” adapters) to be able to assist the Gadsden Fire Department. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

With no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Rampey made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
