WHEREAS the City of Glencoe seeks to recognize individuals who have made a significant impact in the lives of others in the City of Glencoe; and WHEREAS, during Rozlyn Greene's time on earth, she exuded what it means to be a positive role model to others through her display of courage, faith, hope, and most of all, love. WHEREAS Rozlyn Greene should be honored for this example, and we as a city should learn through her example to "Love thy neighbor." NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Chris Hare, Mayor of Glencoe, hereby declare that on the 2nd Saturday in March will be Rozlyn's Rozzy Day. Let this day be a celebration of her courage, fight, and sweet spirit and be a beacon of hope for families battling childhood cancer by letting them know they are not alone and the community of Glencoe, Alabama, stands with them.
