Together we made great strides in 2021. The city completed a very successful new branding and online presence. We have worked hard to make the City of Glencoe more business-friendly. With help from Tashia, our City Clerk, we have made doing business in Glencoe much more convenient by updating and creating all-new fillable online forms.

With all this said, I want the entire community to know, we are actively recruiting, and Glencoe is open for business! If you want to start a business or relocate, we are open!

Over the past year, we've had record revenue, and we believe it is a direct result of our shop local and tourism campaigns. We have proven that our Park is an untapped resource. As a result of collective marketing efforts, events in our park have created many new visitors to our City. The Bash in the Park, Halloween Trunk or Treat, the Steak Cook-Off, and several others events showcased Glencoe and brought in additional revenue to our wonderful city. We look forward to adding more events for all in the future.

While COVID-19 has limited our Senior Programs, we have actively come up with creative ideas to continue the much-needed services. We added a drive-through for meals, and our volunteers have worked extremely hard to make sure meals are delivered. We look forward to the day when we can open the Senior Center back to the community.

Our City is still striving to work with all of our Glencoe schools in any way we can be of assistance. The boys' and the girls' indoor hitting facilities are completed, and an LED light project has started at Independence Park. This project will be completed in the Spring and benefit high school, middle school, and youth athletics. We believe these additions will further attract new families to our community.

We've started work on a “Master Plan” for our city with The East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission (EARPDC) and look forward to getting the entire community involved. We will have more information available soon on this exciting project! We've had many other improvements within the Parks and Rec, Street, Police, and Fire Departments. I've asked each department to provide an update, and we will post these in the coming days.

While there is still much work to do, there is nothing we can’t accomplish together. We hope you continue to “Live, Shop, and Play" in Glencoe for a better community. It is making a difference!

Thank you for allowing all of us to serve.
