Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Colt Turner, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little, Councilman Danny Wagnon and Councilman Michael Sizemore.
Richard Johnson gave the invocation.
Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the September 10, 2024, regular meeting, and the special called meeting on September 13, 2024, and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from September 10-September 23, 2024. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to suspend the rules and approve Ordinance 24-03 on the first reading. Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All the others voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve Ordinance 24-03 establishing the use of electronic vote counting devices that the county uses. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to approve a donation to the Gadsden-Etowah Patriots Association of $ 200.00 to purchase a table at the Patriot’s Day Luncheon on November 6, 2024. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to purchase rye grass from Gameday Athletics at a cost of $ 9,410.00 Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion for next years budget to upgrade the High School Baseball concession stand for $ 27,900.00. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to approve the 911 contract for 2024-2025 year at a cost of $ 112,753.00 that will be $ 9396.10 per month. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to hire 2 full-time employees in the Street department: Charles Campbell in the street department as an Operator 2 on step 11 and Austin Gaylor in the street department as an Operator 1 step 18. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Little made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All voted aye.
