Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Mayor Chris Hare, Councilman Colt Turner, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little, Councilman Danny Wagnon, and Councilman Michael Sizemore.
Donny Yarbrough gave the invocation.
The City Council opened sealed bids on a 2023 Dodge Charger, Ford F-250 and paving a portion of Webster’s Chapel Road.
Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the September 26, 2023, regular meeting and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Little made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from September 26-October 10, 2023. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to approve Resolution 23-05 authorizing the mayor to sign the application for the ATRIP II Grant for the project on Highway 431 and Green Valley Road. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to approve the bid we opened from Sunny King Ford for a 2023 F-250 4×4 SD Crew Cab 8’ box 176” WB SRW SL (W2B) in the amount of $ 60,000.00. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to close Johnson Street from 4th Avenue to Sallie Springs Road, pending a vote for the city to vacate the road. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to purchase of 24k BTU Fujitsu heat pump mini-split system for $ 4,200.00 from Mitchell’s Air Conditioning & Heating. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve 4 6-foot benches to place inside the tennis/pickle ball courts at a cost of $ $ 2,680.00 from the park catalog. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to approve to put lights on the mobile command unit for the police department in the amount of $ 3,912.00 from Patriot Upfitters. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Wagnon made motion to accept the bid from Brother’s Sealcoating to do the parking lot at the City Hall complex, Library, Senior Center, walking track parking lot and fix asphalt patches at city hall and senior center at a cost of $ 33,861.00. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to accept the sealed bid from Gray Enterprise in the amount of $ 49,900.00 to pave 1200’x22’ 2” deep with approx. two loads of leveling to pave Webster’s Chapel Road from the bottom of the hill to the top. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve for Phillips Plumbing to do the slab rough-in at the baseball field restrooms at a cost of $ 3,500.00. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to purchase two signs at the tennis court with the rules posted and two at the concession stands. Make sure we put the hours on it and add no profanity to the rules. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to put up a sign at the park to thank the county for the 1% money and put the council on it. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Sizemore made a motion to make a one-time donation to the Advanced Manufacturing Center at Gadsden State. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to request $ 3,500 to spend on the USDA luncheon. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to post a job for the park & Rec department. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to accept the bid for the beaver removal at Websters Chapel road for $ 1,800.00. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to allow Chief McKenzie to reach out to Gadsden Dodge and get a revised bid from them on the 2023 Dodge Charger. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Turner made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
