Council Minutes November 12, 2024

Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Colt Turner, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little, Councilman Danny Wagnon and Councilman Michael Sizemore.

 

Richard Johnson gave the invocation.

 

Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the October 22, 2024, regular meeting,  and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve accounts payable from October 22-November 8, 2024. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve the maintenance contract with Albireo Energy at a cost of $ 2,200.00 per year. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All the others voted aye.

 

Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve the 2024-2024 general fund budget with the revenue projections of $ 5,606,190.00. Department expenses are projected at $ 3,833,396.00 and total expenses at $ 5,045,571.00. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve Resolution 24-09 exempting sales tax on fencing for agriculture livestock applications in accordance with the State of Alabama Act 2024-169. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve an ad in the Glencoe High School Yearbook for a full-page ad at a cost of $ 130.00.  Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Turner made a motion to purchase a windstorm stand on blower at a cost of $ 12,182.00 from Ray’s Saw LLC. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Turner made a motion to approve the purchase of a new 2024 John Deere Wing Rotary Cutter at a cost of $ 23,687.68  from TriGreen Equipment LLC. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Turner made a motion to approve for a new restaurant coming in on 431 to have a 35-foot sign. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to enter into an agreement for Basic Administrative Solutions for a $ 250,000.00 Innovative Alabama grant. She will be paid 9% for getting the grant and 1% for writing the grant. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Mayor Hare made a motion to approve the purchase 140ft + 80 ft of 15-inch double wall pipe and 2 catch basins to the left of the fire station by the boat shop at a cost of $ 7,529.00. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve the Jail contract that has been revised to $ 25.00 per day. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Little made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
