Council Minutes March 26, 2024

Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Colt Turner, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little, Councilman Michael Sizemore and Councilman Danny Wagnon.

 

Pastor Crotts gave the invocation.

 

Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the March 12, 2024, regular meeting, and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Little made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from March 12-March 25, 2024. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve for Pam McCord to attend the Revenue Officers Conference in Tuscaloosa April 9-12, 2024, at a cost of $ 265.00 plus travel expenses. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Turner made a motion to approve Resolution 24-03 approving the City of Glencoe to enter into an agreement with the State of Alabama, acting through the Alabama Department of Transportation relating to a project for the intersection improvement at SR1-(US431) and Green Valley Road, including the south bound acceleration lane and new traffic signal; Project# ATRIP 2-28-2024-235; CPMS Ref 10008125 and 100078593. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve the purchase of a new reporting service and training package for the Fire Department with ESO at a cost of $ 9,441.75 a year. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Sizemore made a motion to approve for the Senior Center to purchase a new monitor for their security system at a cost of up to $ 500.00.  Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve the hiring of Stephen J. Prisament to the full-time position of Public Works Director, at a salary of $ 65,000 with full benefits and a tentative starting date of May 8, 2024. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Turner made a motion to surplus the following equipment:  202 Ford F-350 # 7478, 2011 Ford F-150 # 7866, 2016 Chevy Silverado 4WD #2593, ZD326 Kubota Zero Turn mower, John Deere Zero-turn mower with propane (3), John Deere Riding mower and Gas golf cart with bed. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Turner made a motion to allow the mayor to approve a contract with Alabama Power to put up 3 cameras at the park at a monthly cost of approx. $ 711 per month, not to go over $ 10,000.00 per year. Councilman Little seconded the motion. Councilman Rampey abstained from voting. Mayor Hare, Councilman Wagnon, Councilman Sizemore, Councilman Little and Councilman Turner all voted aye.

 

With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Little made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
