Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Colt Turner, Mayor Chris Hare, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little, Councilman Michael Sizemore and Councilman Danny Wagnon.
Chief Johnson gave the invocation.
Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the June 13, 2023, meeting note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from June 12-June 23, 2023. Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to adopt a 24 hour “Pay Per Call” rotation for the Glencoe Fire Department as follows:
- $ 20.00 per call from 5:pm to 5:00 am (Monday -Sunday) 2 people per call on medic calls.
- $ 25.00 per call for Structure Fire
- ) Firefighters must be on the scene.
- ) Firefighters must be actively involved.
- ) Firefighters must participate in clean-up after the event.
- $ 20.00 per call all other calls (i.e., wrecks, storm damage, etc)
- Pay will be on June 1st and December 1st on a 1099 basis.
Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to increase the Fire Chief’s pay to $ 29,000 on an annual basis. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to approve the hiring of Jordan Yancey as a full time Police Officer at Level 2 step 1. Start date will be July 10, 2023. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to enter into an agreement with B. Craig Lipscomb Architect to do the preliminary Architectural Feasibility Report for the proposed community center’s USDA Loan application. This report is required for the application. Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to accept a bid from Phillips Tree Service for cutting pines on bank beside Senior Building and hauling off the debris. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to accept a bid from Kevin Humphrey on clearing creek bank along Green Valley Road near Dollar General parking lot for $ 10,000.00 and remove the debris.
Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to make a onetime donation of $ 500.00 to softball and baseball for travel meals. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to go into executive session. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to reconvene the Council Meeting. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Turner made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
