Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Colt Turner, Mayor Chris Hare, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little, and Councilman Danny Wagnon, and Councilman Michael Sizemore.
Chief Johnson gave the invocation.
Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the July 11, 2023, meeting note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from July 11-July 25, 2023. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve for the city to purchase a football ad in the Messenger ¼ page for $ 150.00. Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve for the city to donate $ 100.00 to Family Success Center’s Blue ribbon campaign for child abuse. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve for the city to donate $ 200.00 to the Big Brothers Big Sisters golf for kids’ sake. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve for Tashia Blackerby to attend the Revenue conference in Birmingham on August 9-11, 2023, at a cost of $ 265.00 plus travel expenses. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve for Pam McCord to attend Revenue Certification class in Tuscaloosa October 4-6, 2023, at a cost of $ 265.00 plus travel expenses. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made motion to increase the cost for the Tennis Courts by $ 8,800 to add wire to the concrete for the Tennis Courts. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion for the city to pay approx. $ 1,500.00 to hold a luncheon to announce city promotions. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Turner made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
