Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Colt Turner, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little, Councilman Danny Wagnon and Councilman Michael Sizemore.
Richard Johnson gave the invocation.
Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the July 9, 2024, regular meeting, and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to approve accounts payable from July 4-July 22, 2024. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to hire 2 employees in the street department, Collin Sims at Operator 2 step 10 and Dylan Parris at an Operator 2 step 8. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All the others voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve a donation to Big Brothers/Big Sisters golf tournament for a $ 200.00 golf tee. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve for top dressing on all 6 fields at a cost of $ 6,700.00. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to approve Resolution 24-06 approving a Moratorium on Mobile home parks, Vape shops, Mattress Stores, Mini Warehouses/Storage bldgs. And Title /Cash Advance stores. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Wagnon made a motion to join The National League of Cities for $ 1,276.00 in dues yearly. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to allow Gadsden Fence to put a fence around the dog park at a cost of $ 18,650.00. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to pave the following streets: Pauline Avenue, Oak Street, and Macon Drive at a cost of $ 237,840.00. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to move Judd Bell to operator 3 step 15. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Turner made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
