Council Minutes for September 14, 2021

Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Colt Turner, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little, Mayor Hare and Councilman Chris Sims.

Mayor Hare gave the invocation.

Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the August 24, 2021, meeting and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Little made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from August 24-September 13, 2021. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve Ordinance 21-03 Noise Control Ordinance on the 3rd reading. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

Councilman Wagon made a motion to approve a donation to CED Mental Health for $ 200.00 for Youth Prevention Conference for Etowah County students. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve a donation to the Spina Bifida Association of Alabama in the amount of $ 100.00 Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.

Councilman Turner made a motion to approve the appointment of Shannon Graham, Kagan Brown, and Michael Arthur to the Planning Commission. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

Councilman Turner made a motion to approve an increase in safety shoe allowance from $ 100.00 to $ 200.00 per year. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

Councilman Wagnon made a motion to not allow the rezoning the property on the corner of Lonesome Bend Road and Air Depot Road to B2 based on the recommendation of the Planning Commission. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted yea.

Councilman Little made a motion to allow G&G to fix the transmission in the unmarked Tahoe at a cost of $ 4,818.86. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

Councilman Little made a motion to submit a letter of intent to purchase 2 new Tahoe’s from Donohoo Chevrolet. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

Councilman Little made a motion to move Kenon McKenzie’s salary up to $ 55,000 after his 6-month probation period. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

With no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Rampey made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
