Council Minutes for February 8, 2022

Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Rampey, Councilman Little, Mayor Hare, Councilman Wagnon, Councilman Turner and Councilman Sims.

 

Councilman Little gave the invocation.

 

Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes from the January 25, 2022 meeting and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from January 25- February 7, 2022. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve Resolution 22-03 authorizing the mayor to enter into an agreement with ALDOT for a new Van for the Senior Center. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve for Tashia Blackerby, Sherri Robinson and Sonya Wilson to attend the magistrate training in Huntsville/Birmingham in March and April at a cost of $ 195.00 each plus travel. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Sims made a motion to approve for Mike Ashley to remove concrete sidewalks and replace the sidewalks with stamped concrete (cobblestone design). The cost to pour 15×15 patio with stamped concrete will be $ 14,000.00 Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Sims made a motion to approve for Mike Ashley to pour a concrete walk at the senior center front door under the awning. This is required to level the area and keep water from standing to remedy the slip and fall threat at a cost of $ 4,200.00 Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve an ad in the Messenger Progressive magazine the ¼th vertical for $ 250.00.  Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to surplus an old air compressor in the Fire department and give it to the Etowah County Dive team. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to stripe the water rescue trailer at a cost of $ 675.00 from the Fire tax fund. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

With no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Rampey made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
