Council Minutes December 10, 2024

Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Colt Turner, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little and Councilman Michael Sizemore. Councilman Danny Wagnon was absent.

 

Richard Johnson gave the invocation.

 

Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the November 26, 2024, regular meeting,  and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Little made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from November 26-December 9, 2024. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Turner made a motion to approve a donation to the 2025 Etowah County Water Festival in the amount of $ 250.00 and allow Todd Means to work the festival. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All vote aye.

 

Councilman Sizemore made a motion to approve a Christmas ad in the messenger in the amount of $ 90.00 for a 5 X 5 ad. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve to surplus 4 Tahoe’s from the police department. We will put on the list serve to other Municipalities to start with. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve an ad in the 2025 Current magazine through the chamber for a half-page ad at a cost of $ 900.00.  Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Turner made a motion to approve to pay for the supplies to bore under Banks Street in the amount of $ 4,119.00 out of the American Rescue funds. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve a Proclamation declaring January 2025 as “Human Trafficking Awareness Month”! Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to cancel December 24th Council meeting due to the holiday. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Sizemore made a motion to replace the heating unit at the Senior Center at a cost of $ 17,500 through Mitchell’s Heating & Cooling. It is a 10-ton Reem Gas pack. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Sizemore made a motion to Post a job for a driver for the delivery van for the Senior Center. This job is $ 12.50 per hour and is for 3 hours a day, 15 hours per week. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to allow Tashia Blackerby to attend the IIMC Clerk conference in Orlando, Florida on January 7-11, 2024, at of cost of $ 1755.00.  Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Little made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
