Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Colt Turner, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little, Councilman Danny Wagnon and Councilman Michael Sizemore.
Richard Johnson gave the invocation.
Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the July 23, 2024, regular meeting, and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from July 23-August 12, 2024. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve a donation to the Glencoe Fishing Team of $ 300.00. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All the others voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to approve a Resolution 24-07, allowing the mayor to enter into an agreement with CDG Engineers and Associates, Inc., for professional services for the ARC Grant. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve for Todd Means to attend Asbestos Inspector Training at the University of Alabama on October 1-3, 2024, at a cost of $ 595.00 plus travel. Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to approve a donation to the Etowah Baptist Mission Center in the amount of $ 1,000.00. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to have the Ford F150 crew cab fixed at G & G Auto in the amount of $2,150.94. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Wagnon made a motion to raise the expenditure amount department heads can spend without mayors approve from $ 500.00 to $ 1,000.00. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to surplus a transport cage for a police vehicle and sell to Ohatchee police department for $ 1.00. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to accept the settlement from Hertz rental on an incident with our police Tahoe. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to redo the hydroseeding at the dog park. This will involve them Harley raking it and then we will spray it with weed killer and then they will hydroseed again. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All vote aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to put the brick dust the 2 youth softball fields to stay under $ 4,000.00. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to purchase a 2024 F-150 Crew Cab from Sunny King Ford at a cost of $ 50,053.00. (This is on the East Alabama Contract price) Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to go into Executive Session. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to reconvene the council meeting. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Rampey made a motion to reinstate evaluations, it will be up to the department heads on a scale of 1-5. Councilman Little seconded the motion. All voted aye.
With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Sizemore made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
