Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were Councilman Michael Sizemore, Councilman Colt Turner, Councilman Cody Rampey and Councilman Jeff Little. Councilman Danny Wagnon was absent.

Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of July 22, 2025, regular meeting, and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to approve accounts payable from July 22-August 11, 2025. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Sizemore made a motion to approve Resolution 25-14 approving the elections officials and their pay. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to accept the bid for resurfacing Websters Chapel Road from 431 to the county line by Vulcan Materials Asphalt and Construction, LLC in the amount of $ 466,273.40. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to approve the hiring of Riley Schomburg in the street department full-time at Operator 2 step 15. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to approve the purchase of 80 feet of 18” arched aluminized pipe and 2 21”x15” band w/bolts at a cost of $ 3234.90 to put on Bing Forest. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to approve the payment of $ 1,000 to Gray Enterprise for fixing the hump on Pineview Avenue. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to approve the contract with Three Notch Group for the Engineering on the Grant for Fords Valley Road at a cost of $ 98,770.00. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to purchase a Alkota hot water pressure washer with reel and 100 feet of hose from Etowah Chemical at a cost of $ 7752.00. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Little made a motion to approve the donation of $ 1,150.00 to Glencoe Elementary School for the 4th grade fieldtrip to Montgomery. Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All voted Aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to sell the John Deere Tractor 6105 to the City of Vernon in the amount of $ 47,500.00. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Councilman Turner made a motion to approve for Tashia Blackerby to pay the normal bills for August 26, 2025, even though we will not have a council meeting due to the elections. Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All voted aye.
With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Sizemore made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.
