Council Minutes April 25, 2023

Mayor Hare called the meeting to order. Present were, Councilman Colt Turner, Mayor Chris Hare, Councilman Cody Rampey, Councilman Jeff Little, Councilman Danny Wagnon and Councilman Michael Sizemore.

 

Councilman Little gave the invocation.

 

Mayor Hare asked the Council to look over the minutes of the April 11, 2023, meeting and note any changes to the City Clerk. Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve accounts payable from April 11-April 27, 2023. Councilman Sizemore seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Wagnon made a motion to approve for El Jalapeno Mexican Restaurant to sell liquor, beer, and wine once it gets everything ready to open on Banks Street. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Rampey made a motion to approve a donation to the Glencoe FFA Rodeo in the amount of $ 200.00.  Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to hire Adyson Trimm as a magistrate at level 2 step 7 with a review in 6 months. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to do a proclamation recognizing Ed Lett for his contributions to the City of Glencoe as an athlete and a college athletic administration. Councilman Wagnon seconded the motion. All vote aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to purchase a boat for rescue and recovery with fire tax money in the amount of $ 63,500 to be reimbursed $ 45,000 from 1% money (district 28,29 and 30 and Craig Inzer). Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve for the purchase of 10 Tridicon Rugged miniature reflex sight plus parts for the officer’s duty weapons at a cost of $ 5,548.93 and $ 1,899 for a generator for the police department which will be paid for by grant money. Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All vote aye.

 

Councilman Little made a motion to approve the purchase of $ 350.00 worth of soft drinks from Buffalo Rock for Glencoe Middles School’s spring fling on May 12th. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

Mayor Hare made a motion to increase Mike Beggs and Andrew Dewberry’s pay by $ 1.87 per hour while they are filling in as a department head until we hire one (Mike Begg’s pay had already been increased by 0.85 for filling in for Greg McKee so his will go up by $ 1.03). Councilman Turner seconded the motion. All voted aye.

 

With no further business to come before the council, Councilman Turner made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Rampey seconded the motion. All voted aye.
